"1 in 8 Americans have worked at a McDonald’s restaurant." Lutito McDonald's was born from 1 in 8.
On June 1, 1981, Edward Lutito, more commonly known as Ed, put in his application to work as a crew person at a local McDonald's in his home town of Anaheim, California. While working there, he met Kristen Hogie, his eventual wife. As the years passed and his fellow crew members and friends moved on to different jobs, Ed remained an employee of McDonald's, working up the ranks. Kristen moved into Office Management, working behind the scenes learning the office mechanics of running a McDonald's organization. Eventually, Ed became a Supervisor of the organization that "raised" him in Anaheim, California. In the early 2000's, after marrying and welcoming two children, Ed & Kristen decided they wanted to pursue McDonald's ownership; their veins, after all, had turned to ketchup.
In 2002, their dream came true. They began the Lutito Organization in Aransas Pass & Rockport, Texas, moving the family to Corpus Christi, Texas. From there, through a bucket of sweat, many tears, challenges, remodels & re-builds, the Organization grew to six South Texas locations and in 2021, the organization was given the opportunity to grow into the Greater Austin market.
In 2023, the Lutito Organization announced the bittersweet news of the sale of the six South Texas locations. With one door closed, another door opened. On November 1, 2023, the Lutito Organization welcomed an additional nine new restaurants into their McFamily in the Central Texas area.
Today, 21 years later, the Lutito Organization owns and operates 16 restaurants throughout Central Texas, including the cities of Austin, Belton, Cedar Park, Harker Heights, Killeen, Round Rock, Temple and Troy.
